Frank Ingram died from unspecified causes on 25th October, 1914, after having been taken back to a base hospital on the coast, but It is not known if he died from wounds or from illness, both of which took their toll of the men on the Western Front. 

The 4th Middlesex battalion of 8 Brigade, 3rd Division had arrrived in France at the beginning of the war in August, 1914 and since then had been involved in much of the fighting, most recently the Battle of L Bassee.
